Bloomberg·Software Engineer·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

Jul 2026
Behavioral round at Bloomberg for a software engineer role. Four questions, all pretty standard ownership and collaboration stuff, but the interviewers clearly knew what they were probing for so vague answers didn't land well.
  • Tell me about a project you're proud of.
  • How have you handled receiving negative feedback?
  • Describe a time you had to resolve a conflict with a teammate or stakeholder.
  • Tell me about a time you went beyond what was expected of you.

“I had a solid story ready but rambled too much on the technical details and kind of buried the actual impact.”

Bloomberg·Software Engineer·Technical Phone Screen

Jul 2026
Interviewing for a senior engineering role at Bloomberg London. Got through the recruiter chat and a two-question technical screen without much trouble, and now I'm staring down a coding round plus a 90-minute system design session and have no idea what to expect from either.
  • An array-based data structures and algorithms problem.
  • A tree-based data structures and algorithms problem.
  • Discussion about the technologies and tools you have worked with.

“Went fine, nothing that tripped me up.”

Bloomberg·Software Engineer·Technical Phone Screen

Aug 2026
Interviewing for a senior software engineering role at Bloomberg London. Cleared the recruiter screen and a technical phone screen with two coding questions no problem, now prepping for a coding round and a 90-minute system design round and not totally sure what to expect from either.
  • Given an array, solve a problem involving array manipulation or traversal.
  • Given a tree structure, solve a problem involving tree traversal or operations.

“Went through this one pretty smoothly.”
