Amazon·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

Jul 2026
Amazon PM interview with a product launch question that gave you three different service types to pick from. Pretty open-ended, which sounds nice until you realize you have to structure six different dimensions for each one.
  • Pick one of these three potential Amazon services (a table-booking app, a flower-delivery service, or an advertising platform) and walk through how you'd launch it. Cover target users, pain points, value proposition, MVP features, success metrics, and go-to-market strategy.

“I went with the advertising platform because I figured I had the most to say about it, but in hindsight the table-booking app might have been the sharper choice since it has more obvious Amazon ecosystem angles.”

Amazon·Product Manager·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

Jul 2026
Amazon PM loop, all behavioral, every question was a leadership principle deep-dive. Five prompts covering data, constraints, customers, speed, and scope creep. Pretty standard Amazon gauntlet but it moves fast.
  • Tell me about a time you dug deep into data to solve a problem.
  • Describe a time you had to solve a complex problem with multiple competing constraints.
  • Walk me through a situation where you had to deal with a difficult customer.
  • Tell me about a time you had to make a decision quickly without having all the information you needed.
  • Give an example of when you went beyond what was initially asked to fully resolve an issue.

“This one I actually felt okay about.”

Amazon PM interview with a classic product sense question about infrastructure changes and their downstream effects. Pretty open-ended, which I was not fully prepared for.
  • If internet speed were 100 times faster than today, what would change?

“I went straight to consumer stuff like faster streaming and downloads, which in hindsight was the boring answer.”

Did a PM loop at Amazon and this customer obsession question came up pretty early. Pretty standard LP territory but I still fumbled parts of it.
  • Tell me about a project where you made the customer your top priority.

“I had a story ready but I spent too long on the setup and barely got to the actual impact.”

Behavioral round for a PM role at Amazon. Just the one question but it's the kind that sounds easy until you're actually in it trying to remember a real story that doesn't make you look like a jerk.
  • Tell me about a time you changed a peer's mind when they disagreed with you.

“I went in thinking I had a solid story but mid-answer I realized it sounded more like I steamrolled the person than actually influenced them.”

Product sense question for a PM role, just one scenario but it had enough layers to keep me busy for a while. The Apple Watch constraint made it more interesting than a generic 'design an app' prompt.
  • You are a PM at Tesla. Design the Tesla app for Apple Watch.

“The wearable constraint is where I spent most of my energy and probably where I went wrong.”

Amazon·Product Manager·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

Went through a PM interview at Amazon with a behavioral question tied to their leadership principles. Pretty standard loop but the question itself had more nuance than I expected.
  • Describe a time you had to make a product decision without enough customer data to back it up.

“I fumbled this a bit because I defaulted to a story where I actually did have some data, just not a lot.”

Amazon PM interview with a product strategy question focused on UPI, India's instant payments system. Pretty niche topic if you're not familiar with the fintech space there.
  • How would you grow revenue for a UPI-based payments product in India?

“I fumbled the setup a bit because UPI is famously zero-fee for consumers, so the obvious monetization levers aren't really there.”

Amazon PM behavioral loop, three questions all squarely in the leadership principles territory. They probe hard on follow-ups so having vague stories ready will absolutely sink you.
  • Describe a time you came up with an innovative approach to solve a problem.
  • Tell me about a time you dug deep to find the root cause of a problem.
  • Walk me through a situation where an urgent request landed right before a critical deadline. How did you handle it?

“This one tripped me up because I kept reaching for the flashiest story I had instead of the most concrete one.”

Amazon PM loop, two behavioral questions that were pretty much back-to-back. Both leaned hard into leadership principles, which I expected, but the follow-up probing caught me off guard more than once.
  • Describe a situation where you had to deliver results despite significant ambiguity. How did you create enough clarity to move forward?
  • Tell me about a time you strongly disagreed with your manager or a teammate. What did you do, and how did it turn out?

“I had a decent story prepped but fumbled the 'how you reduced ambiguity' part.”
