Went in expecting a quick 30-minute chat for a car sales role at a luxury dealership and ended up spending an hour and a half meeting basically the entire management chain up to the GM. The vibe felt positive throughout, but the GM pumped the brakes a little at the end and said he needed a few days to think it over.
  • Do you have any hesitations about hiring me based on my resume and our conversation today?

“I actually flipped the script and asked this myself at the end of every single interview segment.”

25-minute single-round interview for a cafeteria assistant position at an elementary school. Nerves completely took over despite taking beta blockers beforehand, and the whole thing left me questioning whether I'll ever be able to hold it together in an interview setting.
  • Tell me about yourself.

“This question wrecks me every single time and I don't know why I'm still not prepared for it.”

Bombed what might be the easiest technical interview I've ever sat through at a big company with great conditions. We're talking sub-easy LeetCode problems and basic conceptual stuff, and I still managed to blank completely.
  • Write a simple loop with a conditional check (basic control flow problem, easier than FizzBuzz).

“I genuinely could have done this in my first semester of uni.”

Went in for what looked like a decent coordination role near home, and the interview basically dismantled every reason I'd applied. The WFH policy, the location, even the job description itself had all quietly shifted by the time I sat down. Only question they asked was why I wanted the role, which felt almost insulting given how much mental energy I'd burned getting there.
  • What attracted you to this role?

“This was literally the only question they asked.”

Had a 30-minute online interview for a nursing position. Felt mostly okay about it but fumbled part of a clinical scenario question, which is still bugging me. One of the interviewers said I was doing well, so who knows.
  • Walk us through how you would handle a specific clinical scenario, including your reasoning and any steps you might have missed.

“I gave an answer I was mostly okay with, but then the second part of the question basically pointed out exactly what I'd left out.”

Went in for a FOH position at a tex-mex place and left nearly in tears. The interviewer showed up 30 minutes late, seemed annoyed the whole time, and spent most of the conversation telling me he had zero confidence in me rather than actually interviewing me.
  • You have limited work history. Can you explain why?

“I explained everything.”

Two-round process for a role replacing a long-tenured employee. First conversation was genuinely great, second round with the operations director felt oddly flat and now there's been radio silence past the promised callback date.
  • Do you have any questions for me?

“This was literally the opening line from the second interviewer.”

Went through a Python OOP technical screen for a FAANG company and got rejected despite feeling decent about most of it. The rejection feedback cited data structure selection and incorporating feedback, which still doesn't fully add up to me given how the session actually played out.
  • Design a data structure that supports queue behavior with efficient lookup.

“I went with OrderedDict because it gives you FIFO ordering and O(1) lookup, which felt like a clear win over a plain queue.”

Interviewed for a Customer Experience Analyst role and the first two rounds went fine until a project lead started asking about AI systems and RAG, which was nowhere in the job description. Left feeling like I held my own for most of it but fumbled the second half pretty badly.
  • Walk us through how you would handle a specific situational scenario relevant to the analyst role.
  • What do you know about AI systems and how they work, particularly in a business or customer-facing context?
  • What are the main risks and considerations associated with deploying AI systems, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)?

“Had actually prepped for this type of question so it went fine.”

Three rounds for what sounds like a data/insights or digital advertising role, got rejected with detailed written feedback. The feedback was actually pretty thorough which almost makes it worse somehow.
  • Walk us through an example where you used data or insights to drive a meaningful outcome for a customer or client.
  • Describe a situation where you had to build a business recommendation from performance data and then actually get it implemented.
  • Tell me about a time you worked across multiple teams to deliver a positive outcome.
  • Give an example of a difficult situation or disagreement you had to navigate, and what you learned from it.
  • How do you define success for a project or initiative, and how do you measure it?

“This was clearly my stronger territory and I thought I did well.”
