Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

Apr 2026
Product sense question for a PM role at Google, just the one question about Meta's user acquisition costs. Short and a bit anticlimactic.
  • How much does Meta spend to acquire a single new user?

“This is a market sizing and unit economics question dressed up as a competitor analysis prompt.”

Got a product sense question about Google Fi during what felt like a standard PM screen. Not much context to go on, but it was a pretty focused session around a single product improvement prompt.
  • How would you improve Google Fi?

“I went in thinking I knew Fi well enough but quickly realized I'd never seriously thought about its positioning against carriers like T-Mobile or the eSIM-only players.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

Apr 2026
Google PM onsite with two open-ended product design questions. Both were pretty meaty and required you to actually think through real tradeoffs rather than just recite a framework. Left feeling like I probably under-indexed on the ethical angles.
  • Given full access to all car images from Google Maps Street View, what product or feature would you build? Walk through target users, the core value proposition, MVP scope, and any ethical or privacy concerns.
  • Design a food delivery platform that is fair to both couriers and customers. Define what fairness means in this context, describe the product vision, how the marketplace mechanics work, how you'd structure incentives, and lay out a phased rollout.

“I spent way too long on the fun part (brainstorming features) and rushed through privacy at the end.”

Google product strategy round, one question, no fluff. They handed me 'Email is dead' and basically said go.
  • Analyze the statement: 'Email is dead'.

“My first instinct was to just agree and riff on Slack and messaging apps, which in hindsight would've been a disaster.”

Google·Software Engineer·Onsite - Coding / Algorithms

Apr 2026
Google SWE coding round, got a taxi scheduling problem that's basically Meeting Rooms II with a thin story layered on top. Pretty standard interval scheduling stuff if you've seen it before.
  • Given a list of taxi ride requests, each represented as a time interval [start, end), find the minimum number of taxis needed to serve all requests simultaneously.

“Recognized it as Meeting Rooms II pretty fast, which was both good and slightly annoying because it felt like they just renamed the problem and called it a day.”

Google·Software Engineer·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

Apr 2026
Behavioral round at Google for a software engineering role. Just one question but they sat with it for a while, probing the follow-ups pretty hard.
  • Tell me about a time when credit or recognition for your work was disputed or overlooked. How did you raise the issue, and how did you resolve it while keeping the relationship intact?

“I had a real story for this but fumbled the delivery.”

Google PM interview with a product sense case framed around retail operations. Just the one question but it had a lot of surface area to cover.
  • You're the owner or manager of a grocery store. How do you figure out how many self-checkout machines you need?

“This is basically an estimation meets product strategy question wearing a grocery store costume.”

Apr 2026
PM product sense question for Google, framed around a food delivery context. Single question, open-ended, the kind where you can go a dozen directions and somehow still feel like you picked the wrong one.
  • You are a PM at a food delivery company. What would you build for health-conscious users?

“Spent the first minute trying to figure out how narrow to go.”

Google·Software Engineer·Onsite - Multi Round

Apr 2026
Interviewed at Google for a data center related role, just the one question from what I can tell. Pretty sparse experience to report on but here it is.
  • What do you prioritize in a data center?

“I rambled through uptime, cooling, power redundancy, security.”

PM strategy question at Google, basically one big open-ended case about whether a car manufacturer should be using GenAI in its products and internal workflows. No fluff, just got dropped into it.
  • You're a PM at a large car manufacturer. Should the company adopt Generative AI or large language models in its products and workflows? How would you approach this decision?

“This is a deceptively wide question.”
