Google·Technical Program Manager·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

May 2026
Went through a behavioral round at Google for a TPM role. Single question but it had some weight to it.
  • Describe a time you effectively managed a project even though you didn't have an official project manager title.

“This one made me pause more than I expected.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

May 2026
Google PM interview with a single open-ended product design question built around a very specific data asset. The question was more interesting than the usual 'design a product for X' prompts and pushed me to think about what makes geo-temporal data actually unique.
  • If you had access to 20 years of geo-related data including street view imagery and satellite data, what product would you build?

“I went straight to urban planning and climate change monitoring, which in hindsight felt a little too obvious.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

May 2026
Google case interview, one question about estimating online fruit and vegetable sales in NYC. Pretty niche market sizing prompt, not your typical tech PM question.
  • Estimate the total dollar amount of online sales for fruits and vegetables per year in New York City.

“I started with NYC population and tried to segment by household type, which felt reasonable, but I got tangled up trying to figure out what percentage of grocery shopping actually happens online versus in-store for produce specifically.”

Google·Software Engineer·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

May 2026
Google behavioral round focused on engineering ownership and judgment calls. Two scenarios, same setup, different flavors of the same uncomfortable question: when is a bug your problem?
  • You're about to start a new project when you find a bug in another team's codebase. It's not your responsibility. What do you do?
  • Same situation, but the bug is in a project you previously owned. The old project has no dependency on your new work. How do you handle it?

“I went with the 'flag it and move on' answer pretty quickly, which felt safe but maybe too clean.”

Google·Software Engineer·Hiring Manager Screen

May 2026
Went through a strategy-style screen for a bizops role at Google and got hit with a product improvement question about Uber. Not what I expected from a non-PM role but apparently fair game.
  • How would you improve Uber?

“I went straight to driver supply and pricing levers because that felt safe, but looking back I think I missed a chance to structure it better before jumping in.”

Google·Technical Program Manager·Onsite - System Design / Architecture

May 2026
Google TPM onsite focused on system design. One question, medical imaging pipeline with ML in the loop. Pretty open-ended and I spent way too long on the storage layer before realizing they probably cared more about the ML integration and access control side of things.
  • Design a system that allows doctors to upload X-rays and receive ML-generated preliminary diagnosis results.

“I went deep on blob storage and upload flows first, which felt safe but probably wasn't what they wanted to spend time on.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

May 2026
Google PM interview, one question about measuring product success for Sheets. Pretty focused session, felt like a product sense screen more than anything else.
  • What metrics would you use to measure the success of Google Sheets?

“I jumped straight to DAU and retention and the interviewer kind of waited, like they wanted more.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

May 2026
Google product interview, one question about value chain analysis for a specific customer segment. Pretty conceptual but they wanted you to tie it back to actual work you'd done.
  • Pick a product you've worked on, choose a specific customer type, and walk through the value chain for that customer. How did your work make the product more valuable to them?

“I fumbled the setup a bit.”

Google·Software Engineer·Onsite - Behavioral / Leadership

May 2026
Behavioral round at Google for a software engineering role, just one question but they really sat in it with you. The conflict question took up most of the time and they pushed for specifics pretty hard.
  • Tell me about a conflict you had at work, whether with a peer, manager, or cross-functional partner. Walk through the situation, the different perspectives involved, how you handled it, and what came out of it.

“I structured it as situation, action, result and thought that was enough but they kept probing on the 'differing perspectives' part, which I'd kind of glossed over.”

Google·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

May 2026
Google PM interview with a geo/strategy case about launching Maps in South Korea. Just the one question but it had a lot of moving parts and I wasn't fully ready for the vendor evaluation angle.
  • Google Maps is planning to launch in South Korea and needs to choose one of three local map data vendors. How do you approach that decision?

“I went straight to data quality and coverage, which felt right but I skipped over the regulatory side for way too long.”
