Agoda·Product Manager·Onsite - Product Sense / Strategy

Apr 2026
PM interview at Agoda with one product sense question about search relevance. Pretty open-ended, which sounds great until you're actually sitting there trying to structure an answer on the fly.
  • If you were the PM responsible for the search results page, how would you approach designing relevance?

“I went straight to ranking signals and started listing things like recency, ratings, price competitiveness.”

Agoda·Data Scientist·Technical Phone Screen

Apr 2026
Interviewed for a Data Scientist role at Agoda and got hit with a classic coding problem. Nothing too wild but worth knowing what to expect.
  • Given an array of integers and a target value, return the indices of the two numbers that sum to the target. Assume exactly one solution exists and you cannot use the same element twice.

“Classic two-sum.”

May 2026
Product sense round at Agoda for a PM role. Single case question about whether to build a subscription product, pretty open-ended and I had to structure it myself from scratch.
  • Should Agoda launch a subscription service called 'Agoda Prime'?

“This one sprawled on me.”

Agoda·Software Engineer·Technical Phone Screen

May 2026
Agoda software engineer interview that threw a probability puzzle at me. Not the LeetCode grind I was expecting, more of a math/reasoning problem that felt like it came out of nowhere.
  • Two people each arrive at a random time within a one-hour window. They meet only if their arrival times are within 15 minutes of each other. What is the probability they actually meet?

“I froze for a bit because I kept trying to think of it as a discrete problem.”

May 2026
PM strategy round at Agoda, one question about growing Uber's revenue. Pretty open-ended, the kind of case that looks straightforward until you're actually in it.
  • You're a PM at Uber. How would you go about increasing revenue for the company?

“I went straight to the obvious stuff, rides and surge pricing, and kind of forgot that Uber has like five different business lines now.”

Jun 2026
Interviewed for a PM role at Agoda and got hit with a classic estimation question. Pretty standard stuff but I fumbled the structure a bit.
  • How many tennis balls can fit in an airplane?

“Classic estimation case.”

Agoda·Data Scientist·Technical Phone Screen

Got a probability question during what felt like a technical screen for a data scientist role at Agoda. Classic geometry-of-probability problem, the kind you see in stats textbooks but somehow still trips you up under pressure.
  • Two people each arrive at a random time within a one-hour window. What is the probability that they are at the same place within 15 minutes of each other?

“I knew this problem from school but blanked on how to set it up cleanly under pressure.”

Agoda·Data Scientist·Technical Phone Screen

Jun 2026
Agoda data science or quant-adjacent interview with a probability question that also required a coding component. The problem was self-contained but had three parts, so the time pressure was real.
  • You have two dice: one with faces 1 through 5, the other with faces 1 through 6. You roll both repeatedly and stop as soon as either die shows a 1. What is the probability that the 5-sided die is the one that shows a 1 first? What is the expected number of rolls? Then implement a Monte Carlo simulation to verify.

“Three parts in one question, which I didn't love.”

Jun 2026
Agoda coding interview with a dynamic programming problem on triangle path sums. Pretty standard algorithmic question but still worth thinking through carefully before diving in.
  • Given a triangle represented as a 2D array, find the minimum path sum from the top to the bottom row, where at each step you can only move to adjacent numbers in the row below.

“Classic DP problem but I second-guessed myself on the adjacency definition for a bit.”

Jun 2026
PM case question for Agoda, focused on diagnosing a payment reliability problem. Single question, fairly open-ended, felt more like a product analytics exercise than a classic product sense prompt.
  • You're the PM for Agoda. Failure rates are rising specifically in newer payment methods like digital wallets and UPI. How do you investigate the root cause, and what do you do about it?

“This one took me a second to orient.”
